I'd heard that ACUS amps are excellent for acoustic guitars, and being a classical guitarist, when I saw the new "Ferdi" range, I was keen to try one. I managed to play on an older model, the "One for Street", and was very impressed with the sound.
So I went ahead and bought the One for Strings 8 Ferdi.
It's a beast!
Sturdy and beautifully designed, but also easily portable, this amp has everything for the acoustic guitarist, or would even suit a duo or trio. Three inputs, all of which can be XLR or 1/4" jack, plus an additional Bluetooth receiver, which is supplied.
Controls are super visual, with clear white arrows, so ideal for darker stages.
DI output, as well as a very useful TRRS in/out port. This is a big bonus: it sends a "post mix" or "wet" signal to an iPad or iPhone, and allows high quality audio recording. For recording practise sessions, you can also cut out the effects, and send a dry signal, so that you can edit in effects later.
Also has a footswitch option, to switch effects on/off.
A really nice feature is being able to adjust the level of effects on each channel separately.
The only negative is that you have to choose between reverb, chorus, or delay: you can't have more than one effect at a time.
Also features settings for "flat", "bass" or "jazz", but I've only used the "flat" setting for my classical guitar.
As to the sound: it's superb. Clear, loud, and can provide everything from an authentic classical tone, to a more contemporary feel, and plenty of other options. My other amp is an AER Classic 60, which is considerably more expensive. The ACUS is louder, more robust (metal grille on the ACUS, the AER has foam). The AER doesn't have an amp stand socket, the ACUS does. The AER is marginally superior in terms of authentic classical sound, but I'm using both together, and they're an amazing combo.
Overall, this amp is outstandingly good for the price, and has everything you need to plug and play.
